Abstract
Open science and responsible research and innovation are emerging concepts which introduce changes in research and innovation policies around the world and especially in Europe. Those concepts include new elements in research design, performance, evaluation and communication of scientific knowledge. This paper summarizes different considerations of responsible research and innovation and also explains open science as one of its dimensions. The purpose of this study is to present open science indicators in the Republic of Serbia and compare it with relevant EU countries. It offers an overview of open access publications, open access repositories and national open science policies.
