Abstract

When participating at the stock market, companies seek for more attention both from professional and individual investors. In trying to achieve investors' attention companies can use many forms of communication, including social media, as long as regulatory requirements are fulfilled. Social media are becoming more and more important in the corporations' communication with investors, but this kind of communication has its own rules and subjects. In order to analyze if Serbian corporations use social media for investor communication at all, a content analyses of web sites and social media pages of companies whose shares are listed on the Belgrade Stock Exchange has been conducted. The results show that Serbian companies do not use social media for communication with investors, which may be a disadvantage, especially having in mind lack of recognition of Serbian shareholding companies in the global market.
