Abstract

Although equality between men and women represents a basic and inviolable human right, women in the modern world are often faced with discrimination and marginalization. Discrimination induces the feminization of poverty and unemployment, which hinder the further progress of society, the growth of economic activity and the full development of women's capability. By applying qualitative and quantitative research methods, the subject of the research was analyzed and the research objectives were achieved. The subject of the research refers to women's empowerment in terms of education, employment, in the workplace and in an economic sense. The objective of the research is to determine in what ways the various types of women's empowerment influence the development of the Turkish economy. Research results are measures, that include the realization of activities, which encourage the development of equal conditions in education and employment, effective use of competencies, knowledge, and skills and strengthening of women's economic power.
